Nordy Club Points on Nordstrom Orders: Rate, Notes, Stacking

The Nordy Club is Nordstrom's free rewards program, and its basic math is simple: members earn 1 point per $1 at Nordstrom, and 1,000 points become a $10 Nordstrom Note, a 1% return. A Nordstrom card raises that to "up to 3 points per dollar." The details are in three Nordstrom pages, the program page, its FAQ and its terms and conditions, read on October 7, 2026, and one of those details changes where it pays: Nordstrom Rack, since June 3, 2025, "no longer awards points on purchases."

How You Earn Points

Membership is free; you join with a mobile number, which also serves as your member ID at checkout. The earn rates, from Nordstrom's pages:

• Members: 1 point per $1 of net spend at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Local.
• Nordstrom cardmembers: "up to 3 points per dollar at Nordstrom," which Nordstrom describes as "at least 2X as fast as members." The exact rate depends on status and card type and is set out in the terms' points table.
• Nordstrom Visa outside Nordstrom: 2 points per $1 on gas and EV charging, groceries, dining and streaming services, and 1 point per $1 everywhere else Visa is accepted.
• Beauty: members earn 10 points per dollar and cardmembers 15 on beauty, online and in stores, under a promotion running on the program page in October 2026.

Net spend is the amount after returns, discounts, taxes, shipping, tips and anything paid with Nordstrom Notes or gift cards. Purchases are rounded to the nearest dollar. Charitable donations, alcohol, certain brands and vending machines earn nothing.

How you pay matters. Paying with a Nordstrom card through Apple Pay or Google Pay earns the full cardmember rate, but paying through PayPal, even with a linked Nordstrom card, earns only 1 point per $1, and you must give your mobile number to get even that. You must identify yourself as a member to earn anything: pay with the Nordstrom card, sign in online with a linked account, or give your mobile number.

Status Levels

Status is set by your net purchases in a calendar year:

Cardmembers start at Influencer status "no matter your yearly spend." Your total resets each January, but you keep last year's status as a floor for the new year. Benefits rise with status. Influencers unlock Personal Double Points Days, days you choose to earn double base points, which cannot be combined with any other bonus points promotion. Cardmembers get early access to the Anniversary Sale and, at Influencer and Ambassador status, alterations reimbursed in Notes, up to $200 for Influencers and $300 for Ambassadors; Icons get unlimited free alterations on items bought with the Nordstrom card.

Higher status adds service perks rather than points. Nordstrom's FAQ lists, for Ambassadors and Icons, one free styling appointment and one free closet consultation per calendar year, and invite-only events such as a holiday party; Icons add 24-hour dedicated customer care, Icon-only events, free same-day delivery where available, and a once-a-year in-store dining or spa experience. Ambassadors and Icons also get free NordstromRack.com shipping when they pay with the Nordstrom credit card. New cardmembers get $40 off their next purchase on approval, according to the program page in October 2026, and every member gets a birthday perk if a valid birthday is saved in the account at least 30 days before the birthday month.

Nordstrom Notes

Points turn into Notes automatically. Members and Influencers get a $10 Note for every 1,000 points; Ambassadors and Icons a $20 Note for every 2,000 points, the same 1-cent value per point. Notes can be spent at Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Last Chance and Nordstrom Local, on merchandise and some services such as beauty, styling and gift wrapping. They cannot pay a Nordstrom card bill, and points cannot be cashed out.

Nordstrom also runs Bonus Note promotions, such as Spend & Get events, where spending a set amount during a promotion earns an extra Note; those Notes are issued after the promotion ends. An authorized user on a Nordstrom card can spend the primary cardmember's Notes, and anyone redeeming a Note must show identification.

The Rules That Cost Points

• Nordstrom Rack earns nothing. Points stopped at Rack on June 3, 2025. Notes can still be spent there, and cardmembers get 5% off Rack purchases paid with the Nordstrom credit card instead.
• Points expire after 12 consecutive months with no Nordy Club activity, such as earning points or redeeming Notes.
• Returns take the points back, and a balance can go negative if you have already converted points to a Note; new points then fill the hole first.
• PayPal earns 1 point per $1 regardless of the card behind it.
• Keep track yourself. Nordstrom says members are responsible for tracking when points expire. It sends a monthly email with your points balance, available Notes and the points needed for the next Note; the balance also shows in your online account, the Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack apps, on Nordstromcard.com, from any salesperson, or by calling 1.888.282.6060.

Stacking Opportunities

• Nordstrom card plus status — the card's higher rate, Influencer status from day one, and Personal Double Points Days on a planned big order.
• Beauty bonus — 10 or 15 points per dollar on beauty while the promotion runs, ten times the base rate for members.
• Portals — none paid on Nordstrom on October 7, 2026: Rakuten's Nordstrom page read "No Cash Back," Capital One Shopping's listed no rewards rate, and none of the United, American, Delta or Southwest portals listed Nordstrom. A general rewards card is the only outside layer.
• Rack with the card — 5% off at the register replaces the points Rack no longer pays.

Redemption Value

At 1 cent a point, a member earns $10 in Notes on every $1,000 of net spend, 1%. A cardmember earning up to 3 points per dollar gets up to 3%, plus the perks. On a $400 Nordstrom order, a member earns 400 points, $4 toward a $10 Note; a cardmember at 3 points per dollar earns 1,200 points, one $10 Note with 200 points toward the next. A Personal Double Points Day doubles those base points. Notes spend like cash at all four Nordstrom banners, but only there.

Bottom Line

Nordy Club pays 1% to members and up to 3% to Nordstrom cardmembers, in $10 Notes per 1,000 points, with status from $500 a year (or instantly with a card) unlocking Personal Double Points Days and alteration perks. Nordstrom Rack stopped awarding points in June 2025, PayPal earns only the base rate, and points lapse after 12 months without activity. No shopping portal paid on Nordstrom in October 2026, so the card and the program's own bonus events are where the extra return comes from.
